Lot 815: A Collection of Cut Glass and Crystal Glassware
A large assortment of glassware and crystal contained within six boxes. The collection includes a pair of square-bodied decanters with multifaceted stoppers featuring diamond and vertical fluted cutting. Also present is a bulbous ribbed glass decanter with a novelty fruit-form stopper and several plain glass carafes. The lot features various cut glass vases in flared and cylindrical forms with traditional diamond, cross-hatch, and fan-cut motifs. Drinking glassware is extensive, comprising stemware and tumblers such as wine glasses, sherry glasses, and spirit tumblers. Some tumblers bear commercial logos and script, including a hexagonal motif and cursive script reading Maxwell. Miscellaneous items include a frosted white glass lamp shade with vertical ribbing, small bowls, and various decorative oddments. One box is marked with a handwritten inscription. No manufacturer acid-etched marks were observed.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying quality from pressed glass to hand-cut crystal. Some pieces exhibit internal residue and cloudiness, particularly the plain carafes. Due to bulk storage, minor chips and surface wear may be present. Sold as a mixed lot.
