Lot 866: Contemporary Sheesham Wood Three Drawer Console Table
A contemporary console table, also suitable for use as a server, constructed from solid sheesham wood, also known as Indian rosewood. The rectangular top surface exhibits the prominent, high-contrast wavy grain characteristic of the timber. The carcass features three frieze drawers arranged in a single row, each fitted with a single turned wooden pull knob. The table is designed with a full-length lower open shelf and is supported by four square-section legs. This item is a typical example of modern furniture manufactured in India for the export market. No permanent manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are present on the body of the piece.
Condition report:
The table is in good, stable condition. The wood surfaces show minor signs of wear and light surface scratches consistent with domestic use. There is visible adhesive residue and tape on the top right-hand corner where auction labels have been applied. The drawers operate smoothly.
