Lot 870: Two Georgian revival style mahogany-stained pedestal wine tables
Two assorted pedestal wine tables of varying sizes. The larger table features an oval top with a scalloped pie-crust moulded edge, mounted on a turned central pedestal with a tripod base and out-swept cabriole legs. The smaller table comprises a circular top with a simple moulded edge, supported by a turned pedestal on a tripod base. Both pieces are constructed from mahogany or mahogany-stained hardwood and represent mid-20th-century British reproductions of traditional 18th-century furniture designs. One table bears a white adhesive sticker from a previous sale at Chiswick Auctions.
Condition report:
Fair to poor. The larger table displays significant white paper or sticker remnants on the top surface and a notable deep scratch or gouge to the scalloped edge. The smaller table shows several small white marks, potentially paint or plaster, along with scattered surface scratches. Both tables exhibit general surface wear and signs of use consistent with age.
