Lot 888: A Pair of Ercol Old Colonial Style Armchairs
A pair of Ercol armchairs of differing designs, both featuring dark-stained wooden frames. One chair is a wing-back design, while the second is a high-back armchair with shaped side supports. Both pieces feature scrolled armrests and turned H-pattern stretchers, characteristic of the Ercol Old Colonial range. The frames are constructed from solid wood, typically elm and beech. The chairs have been re-upholstered in a magenta corded fabric with contrasting green piping and button-tufted backrests. A handwritten paper label attached to one arm identifies the maker as Ercol and notes the new upholstery.
Condition report:
The chairs are in good used condition. The upholstery is recently replaced and shows no significant wear, staining, or fading. The wooden frames exhibit minor surface scuffs and light wear consistent with age and use. All joints are stable.
