Lot 929: A contemporary distressed pine bedside cupboard in the shabby chic style
A modern one-piece pine bedside cupboard or nightstand, constructed from solid pine. The piece features a single drawer above a single panelled cupboard door. The carcass is finished in a light grey paint, while the overhanging top and scalloped plinth base exhibit a heavily weathered, rustic natural wood finish with traces of white and pale green paint. The drawer and door are fitted with white-painted turned wooden knobs. Internally, the drawer is lined with a decorative botanical tree motif paper in grey tones, while the cupboard interior remains in an unpainted natural pine state. The door is mounted on small metal hinges. The item bears contemporary auction labels including a lot tag for Liskeard Auction Rooms.
Condition report:
The distressed finish is intentional and characteristic of the shabby chic style. The piece is in overall solid condition with visible natural wood grain and knots to the interior and base. Minor surface wear consistent with use.
