Lot 932: A Tudor Revival Oak Dining Suite Comprising an Oval Trestle Table and a Set of Chairs
A mid-20th century oak dining suite in the Tudor Revival style, in the manner of British manufacturers such as Wood Bros. The table features a solid oak oval top with a central seam, supported by a trestle base with shaped end supports and a central stretcher secured by keyed tenon joints. The suite includes a set of ladder-back dining chairs, each featuring four wavy horizontal slats to the back, turned front legs, and block feet. The padded seats are upholstered in a floral tapestry-style jacquard fabric in muted tones of brown, beige, and green.
Condition report:
The suite is in used condition. The tabletop shows significant surface wear, including numerous scratches, circular water marks, and areas where the finish has faded or worn away. The chairs exhibit general scuffing to the wood and accumulated dust from storage. The upholstery appears intact but would benefit from cleaning. One chair shows white sticker residue on a back slat.
