Lot 973: Nandeath, Elyse, and After Willem and Johan Blaeu, 'A Collection of Artworks and Maps' (Signed)
A collection of artworks and maps. The group includes a large tinted map of Great Britain and Ireland titled Magnae Britanniae et Hiberniae Tabula after Willem and Johan Blaeu, and a smaller framed map titled Environs of Plymouth and Devonport. The collection features a framed watercolour on paper depicting a coastal landscape with a standing stone, signed Nandeath lower left. Also included is a framed ink and wash drawing on paper titled Gregory Arch, depicting a horse-drawn carriage, signed Elyse and dated 1978. The lot is completed by a framed print on paper of a genre scene outside The Nags Head inn and an unframed modern canvas print of Eilean Donan Castle. The framed items are presented in a variety of wood and gilt-effect frames with internal mounts.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in generally good condition. There is light surface dust present across the collection and minor wear to the frames. An auction lot sticker numbered 973 is attached to the glass of the Gregory Arch drawing.
