Lot 984: A Seven-Piece Set of Duralex Amber Glass Apple Bowls and an Art Deco Style Amber Glass Covered Dish
A seven-piece dessert set of pressed amber glass by Duralex, France. The set comprises one large serving bowl and several individual bowls, all designed in a stylised apple shape with integral stalk handles. The exterior of each piece features a heavily stippled bark or pebbled texture, while the interior surface is smooth. The bases of the bowls bear an embossed circular mark for Duralex France. Also included is a circular covered dish in translucent amber glass, attributed to Indiana Glass in the Tiara pattern. The dish features an Art Deco style design with a faceted, stepped rim and a matching domed lid decorated with radiating linear patterns and an integral geometric knob handle. This item is consistent in form with a butter dish or preserve jar.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good used condition. No significant chips, cracks, or heavy surface scratching are visible. The glass retains consistent colour and clarity throughout.
