Lot 987: A Pair of George III Style Mahogany Stained Tripod Side Tables
A pair of circular side or wine tables in the George III taste, dating from the late 20th century. Each table features a circular top with a rounded, moulded edge, constructed from mahogany-stained wood and wood-effect materials. The tops are supported by a turned central pedestal column terminating in a tripod base. The three out-swept, splayed legs feature reeded detailing to the outer edges. One table bears a white rectangular auction lot sticker to the top. No manufacturer marks or labels are present.
Condition report:
Both tables show significant signs of use and wear. The surfaces are dusty with numerous ring stains, surface marks, and areas of finish loss to the tops. One table has a heavy accumulation of white residue, possibly paint or filler, to the lower section of the central pedestal. There is general scuffing, scratching, and wear to the finish throughout, particularly concentrated on the legs and feet.
