Lot 363: A mid-20th century white glazed ceramic fondue set
A complete white glazed ceramic fondue set, likely earthenware, presented in its original packaging. The set comprises a globular lidded pot, known as a caquelon, featuring a white glazed finish and a turned wooden knob to the lid. It is accompanied by a separate long wooden handle designed for attachment to the pot. The set includes a matching cylindrical ceramic stand, or rechaud, with decorative arched cutouts and a circular white ceramic underplate. Accessories include four stainless steel fondue forks, each fitted with a wooden handle and a colour-coded tip in red, yellow, green, and blue. A metal spirit burner with a snuffing cap is also present. The lot is accompanied by the original instruction and recipe leaflet. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible on the base or body of the ceramic items. The design is functional and typical of mass-produced kitchenware from the mid-to-late 20th century.
