Lot 376: A Collection of 20th Century Glassware and English Ceramics
This collection of decorative items features a suite of cut lead crystal glassware, attributed to Waterford in the Clare pattern, comprising a large circular bowl and a pair of matching stemmed glasses. The pieces are decorated with deep geometric cutting including multi-point stars and cross-hatching, with a radial sunburst design to the base of the bowl. The lot also includes an Art Deco frosted glass bowl with a distinctive wide zig-zag stepped rim featuring clear polished star-cut motifs. A further circular pressed glass bowl is included, featuring a pattern of alternating textured squares and circular thumbprint motifs, fitted with a metal rim stamped Silver Plated England. The ceramic portion of the lot comprises a Sudlows Burslem commemorative mug with a polychrome transfer-print illustration of an 1840 Road-Steamer and a small globular ceramic vessel with a cobalt blue ground and hand-painted floral motifs.
