Lot 380: An Assortment of Ceramics, Glassware, and Decorative Household Items including Blue and White Transferware
This lot comprises a collection of ceramics, glassware, and decorative items. The ceramic selection includes a large oval earthenware platter with a dense floral and scroll border, two plates featuring the Abbey pattern with ruins and floral borders, and two bulbous ginger jars decorated with blue and white Chinoiserie landscapes, one retaining its lid. Figural pieces include a large ceramic planter or doorstop in the form of a seated black and white striped cat with a pink bow. Also present is a collector’s plate depicting a young woman in 1920s dress and a ceramic cheese platter illustrated with various French cheeses and wine bottles. Lidded vessels include a globular pot decorated with strawberry blossoms, a potpourri jar with a pierced lid and gilt accents, and a small dish with orange floral decoration. An Art Deco style lidded vessel features a hand-painted orange and red leafy pattern on a cream ground, resembling the style of Clarice Cliff. Glassware consists of a set of clear cut-glass dessert bowls with serrated rims, a leaf-shaped serving dish, and a circular flower frog. Metalware includes three silver-plated coasters with pierced openwork borders and chased decorative centres. The lot is completed by a gold-toned Pulsar quartz wristwatch with a champagne dial and Arabic numerals on a black leather strap.
