Lot 914: W. Robson and others, A Collection of Artworks including Architectural Watercolours, an Abstract Work, and Prints (Signed)
A collection of artworks in various media and styles. The assembly includes a watercolour on paper depicting Chester Cathedral, inscribed lower left and signed W. Robson lower right. A large-scale abstract watercolour and mixed media work on paper features fluid washes of crimson, purple, and blue. The group also contains an architectural study of a Gothic building with a spire, a nautical watercolour showing sailing vessels in a harbour, and a monochrome print of a classical mother and child with a lamb. One work on a dark support features a circular motif and an incised mark in the lower left corner consisting of a cross over two horizontal lines. Additionally, the lot includes a bubble-wrapped Yorkshire Brew Colour Chart commercial sign. Most pieces are professionally mounted and housed in wooden or gilt-effect frames. Labels from Liskeard Auction Rooms are attached to some items.
