A mid-20th-century ceramic cheese dish and cover produced by T.G. Green Ltd as part of the Granville range. The set comprises a circular base with a raised rim and a deep, cylindrical domed cover. The cover is finished in a glossy caramel-brown glaze with a wide cream-coloured central band featuring the word cheese in bold black lowercase typography. The cover includes a central knob handle and a single small steam vent hole. The interior of the dish and the underside of the base are finished in a cream-coloured glaze. This specific design is noted for its association with the British television sitcom Only Fools and Horses. The underside of the base bears a black printed manufacturer mark depicting a church building above the text T.G. Green Ltd, Church Gresley, Made in England.
