Lot 970: Elyse and Vandeleur, A Group of Framed Artworks and Maps (Signed)
A group of framed works comprising watercolours, prints, and maps of various periods. The collection includes an original ink and watercolour drawing titled Gregory Arch and Bahamas, signed and dated Elyse 1950 lower right. A second watercolour landscape is present, signed Vandeleur lower right. Cartographic items include a large-scale reproduction map titled MAGNÆ BRITANNIÆ et HIBERNIÆ TABULA, printed by John Bartholomew and Son Ltd and based on the 1635 original by Willem and Johan Blaeu. Also included is a hand-coloured engraved map titled ENVIRONS OF PLYMOUTH and DEVONPORT, featuring a vignette of local scenery. Additional decorative pieces include a colour print of a coaching scene at The King’s Head Inn and a contemporary photographic print of a coastal landscape on a gallery-wrapped canvas. The works are housed in a variety of wooden and metallic frames, many featuring card mounts with gilt inner borders.
