Lot 550: An Elkington and Co Cased Silver-Plated Canteen of Cutlery
A cased silver-plated canteen of cutlery by Elkington and Co, Sheffield, England. The service is designed in an Art Deco style featuring clean lines and stepped terminals to the handles. The set is housed in a rectangular wooden presentation case with a hinged lid and a fitted green baize-lined interior. An interior silvered plaque is inscribed: ELKINGTON, The Originators Of Silver Plating, Since 1840, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, and includes a small letter B. The knife blades are stamped: SHEFFIELD ELKINGTON ENGLAND B.S.5577. The collection comprises table knives, dessert knives, table forks, dessert forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons, teaspoons, and a serving spoon.
