Lot 1007: Stonehill Mid-Century Atomic Style Bow-Front Formica Sideboard
A mid-century modern bow-front sideboard, attributed to Stonehill Furniture, circa 1960. The piece is constructed from wood-composite materials finished with a combination of high-gloss walnut-effect and grey marble-effect laminates. The design features a pronounced curved front accented by two horizontal bands of decorative gold-tone metal mesh trim with circular stud details. The central configuration comprises a marble-effect fall-front cabinet situated above a wide drawer. The drawer interior is partitioned into three compartments, each lined with red felt. Flanking the central section are two side cupboards with curved doors, each opening to reveal a single fixed shelf. The unit is supported by four tapered spindle legs terminating in brass-tone metal caps. Fitted with silver-tone linear metal handles. No manufacturer marks are present. An auction label is attached to the top surface.
