Lot 1040: A Collection of Framed Art Prints and Papua New Guinea Sporting Memorabilia
An assortment of four framed items comprising two graphic art prints and two pieces of international sporting memorabilia. The first artwork is a bold graphic print on textured paper depicting a stylized warrior on horseback, executed in a mid-century modern aesthetic with thick black outlines and vibrant colours. It is signed RANGNER vertically in blue ink and features a column of characters appearing to be Japanese script alongside a small red seal. The second artwork is a landscape print featuring a circular sun and blossoming branches against a horizontal horizon, rendered in a muted palette of greys, greens, and pinks. This piece is pencil signed Jan Laurrie and numbered 14/150 in the lower margin. The memorabilia component consists of two embroidered patches from Papua New Guinea. One features the national Bird of Paradise emblem and a traditional drum for the Papua New Guinea Shooting Team. The second is a commemorative patch for the XIV Commonwealth Games held in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1990, mounted on a red fabric ground. The items are presented in a variety of black and gold-toned frames.
