Lot 643: A Collection of World War II Books and Periodicals including Mills-Roberts, Clash by Night (DJ)
A collection of military history publications primarily focused on the Second World War. The lot includes an assortment of softcover magazines from the series Images of War: The Real Story of World War II, published by Marshall Cavendish in association with the Imperial War Museum. Present issues include numbers 13, 18, 26, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 47, 51, 55, and 68. These periodicals contain archival photographs, campaign maps, and historical accounts covering various theatres of war, including the Warsaw Uprising, the Battle of the Bulge, and the 1941 campaigns. Also included is a hardcover volume titled The World War II Album, edited by Ross Burns, featuring illustrated boards and historical photographs. The lot is completed by a hardcover edition of Clash by Night: A Commando Chronicle by Brigadier Derek Mills-Roberts, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C., which retains its pictorial dust jacket.
