Lot 778: A 20th-century mahogany-stained extending oval dining table and a set of six matching chairs
This lot comprises a mahogany-stained extending oval dining table and a set of six matching chairs in a traditional reproduction style. The table features an oval top with a decorative carved gadrooned edge and is fitted with one central extension leaf, supported by a twin-pedestal base. The set of six chairs features carved scrolling open backrests with central decorative splats and inset woven cane seats, standing on tapered square front legs.
Included with the furniture are several decorative table accessories: a red and gold damask fabric table runner, a set of botanical-themed hardboard placemats and matching coasters featuring citrus fruits, an ornate black metal candelabra with clear glass crystal droplets and assorted red and silver-toned taper candles, six ceramic elephant-shaped place card holders with blue or green transfer-printed patterns, and several pairs of bamboo chopsticks with ceramic rests. A white adhesive lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms is present on one of the chair frames.
