Lot 808: A Mid-Century Style Rattan and Wood Occasional Suite
A mid-century modern style furniture suite comprising an oval occasional table and a matching side chair. The table is constructed with a bentwood rattan frame and features an oval wood-veneered top. It includes a lower rectangular shelf finished with a woven cane panel. The matching side chair is also made of bentwood rattan, featuring an openwork backrest with three vertical oval motifs and a slatted seat base. The joints are reinforced with decorative rattan wraps. There are no visible maker’s marks. Two labels are adhered to the tabletop: one handwritten “S 766” and one printed for “Liskeard Auction Rooms”, identifying the set as “Lot 808”.
