Lot 14: A Vintage Hardwood Engineer's Tool Chest and Assortment of Precision Measuring Instruments
A mid-20th-century machinist’s or engineer’s tool chest of front-loading design, constructed from stained hardwood with a dark finish. The chest features a removable front panel and seven internal drawers of varying dimensions, lined with green baize. It is fitted with metal corner protectors and a lock escutcheon. The chest contains a collection of precision measurement instruments. Multiple external micrometers are included, with model numbers 436M 25, 436M 50, and 436M 75 visible on the frames, which are characteristics of The L.S. Starrett Co. Additional items include a boxed Swiss Precision Instruments (SPI) component (part number 03183795), various calipers, dividers, and a Metric Revision reference guide. One instrument bears a red calibration sticker dated 31/01/2017. The exterior carries a Liskeard Auction Rooms label for Lot 014.
