Lot 84: Three assorted glazed stoneware garden planters
This lot comprises three assorted glazed ceramic garden planters of various forms and decorative finishes. The first planter is of cylindrical jar form, featuring a molded decorative band of repeating floral and foliate motifs around the upper section. It is finished in a two-tone glossy glaze with a dark brown upper portion dripping into a warm amber lower body. The second planter is a tapered bowl form with a flared rim, decorated with a matte terracotta and reddish-brown horizontal slip-wash effect. The third and largest planter is of bulbous bowl form with a wide, flared rim. It features an incised scrolling wave-like pattern around the midsection. The glaze on the exterior transitions from a dark, textured charcoal base to a reddish-brown upper body with dripping effects, while the interior rim is finished in a pale yellowish-green glaze. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or capacity markings are visible on the exterior of any of the vessels.
