Lot 397: An Assortment of Coastal-Themed Decorative Ceramics and Wooden Items
A collection of decorative items featuring coastal and nautical motifs. The ceramic objects include a tall earthenware pitcher with a repeating transfer-printed design of stylised fish in shades of blue and grey, fitted with a pale blue handle and banded decoration to the base. Also included is a large globular fish-shaped luminary or tea-light holder with multiple circular apertures, finished in a mottled ochre crackle glaze with applied decorative fins and eyes. A small ceramic spiral shell figurine is finished in a deep mottled blue glaze. The wooden and mixed media items comprise a BEACH block sign with rope and starfish embellishments, a carved wooden shorebird mounted on a metal rod with a square wooden base, a stylised sailboat figurine, and two hanging signs including a heart-shaped sign inscribed BEACH SWEET BEACH and a fish-shaped sign with the word Beach in cursive script. No maker marks are visible. A Liskeard Auction Rooms lot sticker for Lot 397 is attached to the fish luminary.
