Lot 424: Vintage Painted Cast Iron Kitten Doorstop
A figural doorstop depicting a seated white kitten or cat. The item is manufactured from cast iron with a hollow, flat-back construction and a semi-circular base. The figure is decorated with hand-painted details, including a red bow around the neck with two gold-coloured bells, blue eyes, and a red mouth. The kitten is positioned next to a blue object, possibly a boot or a ball of yarn, upon a green-painted base. The reverse features a small, raised, rectangular mark to the centre that is illegible due to wear. The underside of the base shows surface oxidation and lacks branding. A modern auction label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 424, is attached to the figure.
