Lot 492: A contemporary novelty metal wall sign depicting Eric Cantona and a Crystal Palace supporter
A rectangular metal wall sign featuring a printed graphic designed to simulate a vintage carded action figure in a blister pack. The design commemorates the 1995 incident between Manchester United footballer Eric Cantona and a Crystal Palace supporter at Selhurst Park. The central image shows a three-dimensional effect rendering of figures representing Cantona in a black Manchester United away kit and the supporter. Printed text on the front reads ERIC CANTONA, KICKING CRYSTAL PALACE FAN, and TOY. The sign is finished with a printed distressed effect around the borders to simulate age. The reverse is plain metal and bears adhesive manufacturer labels identifying the producer as Putianshichenggiangquxinriyiaoshipindian of Fujian Province, China, with a production date of 01/02/2025 and batch number YD1108.
