Lot 545: A Set of Six Asian Style Textile and Ironwood Table Place Settings
A set of six coordinating table place settings of East Asian design. Each individual setting consists of a woven placemat, a fabric napkin, a decorative napkin ring, and a pair of wooden chopsticks. The chopsticks are crafted from a dark reddish-brown wood, identified by gold foil labels printed with the characters for Raw Material, Ironwood, and Finish. The napkins are made from a cream-coloured damask-style fabric, featuring a central circular shou longevity symbol embroidered in gold-coloured thread. Each napkin is held by a ring made of braided off-white cord with metallic gold accents, tied in a decorative four-loop knot. The coordinating placemats are manufactured from a coarse-woven, linen-like cream fabric. The items are presented in their original clear plastic protective packaging, which retains an auction lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms and a handwritten identification label.
