Lot 547: Vintage shillelagh with flattened head face
The item is constructed from turned wood with a dark-stained or ebonised finish. It features a long, tapering body that leads to a bulbous, weighted head. This head is distinguished by a single, large, flattened oval-shaped face which reveals the natural light-coloured wood grain beneath the finish. The handle terminates in a turned, rounded pommel. A paper lot sticker from Liskeard Auction Rooms is adhered to the head, identifying the piece as Lot 547. Traces of white adhesive tape and residue are present on the handle near the pommel.
