Lot 717: A solid hardwood footstool in the style of Pierre Jeanneret
A minimalist solid wood footstool or low side table, constructed from thick planks of a dense hardwood such as mahogany with a rich reddish-brown finish. The design is characterised by its heavy-set form, featuring a seat with a pronounced rounded waterfall edge on one side and straight slab-style legs. The internal joints are reinforced with wooden support blocks. This piece is executed in the style of the sewing stools designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the Chandigarh project in India during the mid-20th century.
Small proportions suitable for use as a footrest or occasional stool.
