Lot 734: Antique Cast Iron Early Pressure Cooker with Hinged Lid
An antique cast iron pressure cooker or double-walled cooking vessel, likely dating to the 19th century. The piece features a bulbous, cauldron-shaped body with a wire swing handle attached to integrated lugs. The hinged lid is designed with a large central aperture and at least two smaller secondary holes, which would have originally housed steam venting or pressure regulation components. The interior appears relatively hollow and lacks any remaining internal fittings. Two paper auction lot stickers are affixed to the piece: a printed label from Liskeard Auction Rooms marked Lot 734 on the lid, and a handwritten white sticker reading S706 on the side. This item is characteristic of early industrial or domestic pressure cooking technology.
