Lot 198: An Assortment of a Woven Grass Storage Basket and Textiles
A circular storage basket with a detachable lid, constructed from coiled and stitched natural plant fibres, possibly grass or palm leaf. The exterior of the basket and the flat lid feature decorative geometric motifs worked in dark brown dyed fibre. The basket is fitted with two integrated rope-style handles. Contained within is an assortment of textile items, including a packaged garment labeled BAUTELICATE Women’s Nightdress Ivory, a black braided item, and various pieces of patterned and plain fabric. A lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms, numbered 198, is attached to the rim.
