A two-piece municipal ceremonial dress uniform associated with the City of Birmingham. The ensemble comprises a dark navy wool double-breasted mess-style tunic and matching dress trousers. The tunic features distinctive bright blue wool-faced lapels. Two bullion-thread breast patches are present, displaying the City of Birmingham coat of arms, which consists of a shield with a red lion rampant and lozengy patterns, surmounted by a mural crown crest. The right sleeve is adorned with an embroidered bullion thread St Edward’s Crown. The jacket is fitted with two rows of silver-tone buttons. A single miniature medal is pinned to the lapel, depicting Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D. to the obverse. The medal is suspended from a blue and white striped ribbon, consistent with the Special Constabulary Long Service Medal. A wooden hanger is included, bearing a lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms.
