Lot 422: A Collection of Blue and White Glazed Porcelain Figurines in the Rococo Style
A collection of glazed porcelain figurines, decorated in a traditional blue and white colour scheme with gilt accents, likely mid-20th-century decorative pieces produced in Continental Europe or Asia for the Western market. The group depicts various figures in 18th-century Rococo-style dress. The collection includes a group depicting a man and woman seated on a high-back settee with blue patterned upholstery, standing couples in period attire, and various single figures including a seated man and a standing boy. Also included are figurines of child musicians, one playing an accordion and the other a mandolin or guitar. The decoration features floral and patterned motifs on the clothing. The bases are generally white with some featuring scrollwork designs. No legible factory marks or backstamps are visible. An auction lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms and a stock sticker marked – 495 are present.
