Lot 521: An Assortment of Mixed Silver Plated and Stainless Steel Flatware and Serving Pieces
An extensive collection of mixed metal flatware and cutlery. The lot includes silver-plated (EPNS) items, stainless steel pieces, and flatware with cream-coloured handles, possibly of celluloid or bone construction. The assortment comprises various types of utensils such as table spoons, dessert spoons, teaspoons, dinner forks, and knives in a variety of patterns ranging from plain modern styles to ornate floral and scrollwork designs. Notable pieces include several large silver-plated serving spoons, a decorative pierced metal cake or pie server, and a three-pronged serving fork with a twisted stem and cream-coloured handle. A novelty stainless steel fork is also present, contained in a black presentation box and engraved with the text I forking love you and a heart motif. Visible markings include STAINLESS STEEL KOREA on a knife blade and the aforementioned engraving on the boxed fork. The silver-plated items show heavy tarnish characteristic of mid-20th-century British manufacture. The lot is composed of loose items and pieces contained within a brown paper bag, formerly identified as lot 521.
