Lot 670: A late 20th-century Georgian revival yew-wood veneered narrow chest of drawers
This narrow chest of drawers is designed in the Georgian revival style and dates to the late 20th century. The exterior features yew-wood veneers with crossbanded borders and ebonised stringing inlay to the top and the four drawer fronts. The drawers are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints at the front and are fitted with secondary light-toned hardwood sides and thin board bases. Each drawer is equipped with a pair of antiqued brass-tone swan-neck drop handles mounted on shaped backplates. The chest is raised on four bracket feet. There are no visible manufacturer’s marks or brand stamps on the piece; it bears an auction house label for Liskeard Auction Rooms and small inventory stickers. While visually similar to pieces produced by manufacturers like Broyhill, the materials and construction are typical of British-made reproduction furniture from this period.
