An early 20th-century oak bureau or clerk’s desk of two-piece construction. The upper section features a slanted, hinged writing surface that opens to reveal a single internal storage compartment. The desk sits atop a rectangular base containing a twin-door cupboard. The piece is constructed from oak with visible medullary rays throughout the grain. Hardware includes brass butt hinges and recessed brass lock plates. No maker’s marks or manufacturer’s labels are present.
