Lot 888: An Assortment of Tables and Chairs
An assortment of furniture comprising two separate lots. The first is an early 20th-century oak two-tier occasional table, showing Arts and Crafts influence in the design of the splayed legs and scalloped lower tier. The table features an oval top with a carved, gadrooned edge. The second lot is a late 20th-century teak-veneered extending dining suite in the style of British manufacturers such as Nathan Furniture. The oval dining table is decorated with fine dark wood inlay stringing near the edge and is supported by a twin-pedestal trestle base with splayed, curved feet joined by a central stretcher. The table top is split centrally to accommodate an internal butterfly extension leaf. The suite includes a matching set of high-back dining chairs featuring curved vertical slats and seat pads upholstered in a dusky pink or mauve fabric.
