Lot 135: A Glazed Earthenware Strawberry Planter
A brown glazed ceramic strawberry planter of bulbous, lobed form. The earthenware body features five integral planting pockets arranged around the lower section and a wide circular central opening at the top. The exterior is finished in a high-gloss, mottled brown reactive glaze characterised by darker speckling and vertical yellowish-green streaking. The interior reveals the natural terracotta body and contains soil residue from previous garden use. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible on the body. The piece bears two adhesive labels: a descriptive auction label stating Brown Glazed Strawberry Planter Res 18 3291 and a lot label for Liskeard Auction Rooms Lot 135.
