Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a collection of decorative textiles featuring African wildlife motifs. The primary item is a large-scale jacquard-woven textile, suitable for use as a wall hanging, bedspread, or decorative throw. The central field is organised into a grid of six horizontal rows, each featuring repeating photographic-style depictions of African wildlife including zebras, giraffes, reclining leopards, sitting cheetahs, gemsbok, and elephants. These individual animal panels are separated by vertical and horizontal borders featuring animal-print motifs, including leopard and zebra patterns. The piece is constructed from a heavy-weight woven fabric, likely a cotton or synthetic blend. Also included is a trio of square textile panels executed in a folk-art or artisan style. These panels appear to be hand-painted or batik-treated on a plain-weave fabric, possibly cotton. One panel depicts a stylised leopard with blue leaf motifs on a peach background, while another depicts a rhinoceros on a blue background with geometric shapes. Each panel is framed by a hand-drawn geometric tribal-style border in dark brown or black. No maker’s labels or signatures are visible on any of the pieces.
