Lot 422: Mid-Century Modern Rya Style Shaggy Wool Rug
A mid-20th-century deep-pile wool rug, likely of Scandinavian or British origin, featuring a modernist geometric design. The central field is worked in a vibrant red wool, partitioned into six rectangular panels by dark brown lines. This central field is enclosed by a series of concentric borders in cream, dark brown, and a wider outer band of light tan. The rug is constructed with a long, shaggy wool pile characteristic of the Rya or high-pile style popular during the 1960s and 1970s. No maker marks or labels are visible in the photographs provided.
