Lot 445: A Collection of Decorative British Ceramics including Coalport Countryware
An assortment of decorative ceramic and porcelain items, primarily of 20th-century British manufacture. The collection includes a relief-moulded bone china jug by Coalport in the Countryware pattern, specifically the Country Meadow variant featuring a blue-lined rim and a green printed backstamp on the base. Also present is a small handled sweetmeat basket decorated with transfer-printed rose sprays and a gilt rim, and a circular bowl containing hand-modelled ceramic floral blooms in shades of pink, yellow, and purple. The lot further comprises two porcelain vases, one of faceted form with polychrome floral decoration and the other of globular shape with pink floral motifs, both with gilt highlights. Additional items include several miniature creamers and jugs, one bearing a heraldic crest, along with a miniature teacup and saucer set and various small cups or bowls. The items are constructed from fine bone china and porcelain, utilizing techniques such as relief moulding, transfer printing, and hand-modelling.
