Lot 453: A Royal Worcester Gold Lustre Fireproof Tea and Coffee Set
A set of Royal Worcester porcelain tea and coffee wares, each finished in an all-over gold metallic lustre glaze. The items feature a classic mid-20th-century form, including a tall lidded coffee pot, a smaller lidded pot, a twin-handled lidded sugar bowl, and an open milk jug. The collection also contains teacups, saucers, and side plates. The cups and jugs are designed with contrasting white glazed interiors. The underside of the pieces bears a circular green backstamp with the text ROYAL WORCESTER, MADE IN ENGLAND, FIREPROOF, and the numeral 5. This fireproof range was produced for increased durability and resistance to thermal shock.
