Lot 483: A Collection of Miscellaneous Cut and Moulded Glass Stoppers and Small Table Glass
A varied collection of glass items, primarily comprising a selection of decanter and bottle stoppers. The group features several glass stoppers in various styles, including a tall, facet-cut example with a ground glass plug, alongside smaller faceted, teardrop-shaped, and rounded examples. Most stoppers are designed with ground glass joints for use with decanters or perfume bottles. The lot also includes two small vessels: a cut glass posy vase with a flared, scalloped rim and a diamond-cut pattern to the body, and a slender, simple cut glass bud vase. Additionally, there are two small circular glass objects, likely open salts or components from larger glass pieces. The items demonstrate various glass-working techniques, including sharp facet-cutting and moulded patterns. One item bears a white rectangular paper label with the handwritten characters – 483.
