Lot 676: A Clarice Cliff Crocus Pattern Coronet Shape Earthenware Jug
A Clarice Cliff Crocus pattern earthenware jug of Coronet shape, manufactured by A.J. Wilkinson Ltd at the Royal Staffordshire Pottery. The vessel features a tapered body rising from a flared pedestal foot, a simple loop handle, and an integral pouring spout. The cream-toned ground is hand-painted with the Crocus design, displaying clusters of blue and purple flowers with green foliage. The decoration is bordered by a wide horizontal green band and a thin orange line to the upper section. The base is marked with a black printed factory backstamp for Royal Staffordshire Pottery and A.J. Wilkinson Ltd, featuring a crown and shield crest with the letter W and England. It also carries the script facsimile signature for Clarice Cliff and a hand-painted number 7165 in green enamel.
