Lot 546: A 950 Silver Torque Collar Necklace and Mother-of-Pearl Pendant
A torque-style collar necklace featuring a hinged pendant. The piece is constructed from silver with a fineness of 950 parts per 1,000, as indicated by the stamp on the reverse of the pendant. The necklace consists of a rigid, circular wire collar that secures with a simple hook-and-eye closure. Suspended from the collar is a pear-shaped pendant, attached via a wide, polished bale and a functional hinge. The pendant is bezel-set with a single teardrop-shaped piece of mother-of-pearl, displaying characteristic iridescent white and pale yellow colours. No maker’s marks or hallmarks other than the 950 stamp are present.
