Lot 706: A collection of seven Indian and Southeast Asian decorative brass bowls
A collection of seven assorted brass bowls of Indian or Southeast Asian manufacture, possibly intended for use as a set of singing bowls. The group features varied decorative treatments, including one bowl with a wide exterior band of floral and foliate champlevé style enamel work in shades of blue, red, and cream. A second bowl is decorated with incised and engraved line work depicting a dragon or similar mythological creature amidst stylised clouds. The remaining five bowls are plain with varying profiles, ranging from shallow to deeper hemispherical forms. There are no visible maker’s marks or stamps on the pieces.
