Lot 707: An 18th or 19th Century Porcelain Lobed Dessert Plate in the Sevres Style
A porcelain dessert or display plate featuring a deep cobalt blue border with a heavily scalloped and gilded rim. The border is decorated with gilded rococo-style scrollwork and cartouches enclosing an oeil-de-perdrix (partridge-eye) gilded dot pattern. The central well is hand-painted with a polychrome floral posy featuring a pink rose, surrounded by scattered floral sprigs and delicate puce-coloured floral garlands. This piece is executed in the Sevres taste, a style frequently produced by 18th and 19th-century porcelain factories such as Chelsea, Worcester, and Coalport. No factory marks or signatures are visible in the images.
