Lot 821: A Georgian Style Yew Wood Bachelor's Chest of Drawers
A late 20th-century reproduction bachelor’s chest of drawers in the Georgian taste. The rectangular case is finished in highly figured yew wood veneers, with the top and four drawer fronts featuring crossbanded borders and dark stringing inlay detail. The chest contains four drawers of equal depth, constructed with dovetail joints and light-coloured secondary timber linings. Each drawer is fitted with a pair of cast metal swan-neck drop handles on circular, textured backplates with an antiqued pewter-style finish. The piece is supported on traditional bracket feet and has veneered side panels. White and pink auction identification stickers are present on the top and bottom drawer.
