Lot 845: Miniature George III Style Mahogany Collector's Chest of Drawers
A miniature collector’s or jewellery chest of drawers, produced in the George III style, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The chest is constructed from mahogany with highly figured veneers, likely burr walnut or mahogany, to the rectangular top and drawer fronts. The top surface is designed with a figured veneer panel set within a cross-banded border. The configuration includes ten small drawers arranged in two columns of five. Each drawer front features a beaded edge and is fitted with a circular brass ring-pull handle set against an embossed round backplate. The chest is supported by shaped bracket feet. The secondary wood used in the internal drawer construction appears to be mahogany or a similar dark hardwood. A white rectangular adhesive label with the handwritten number 845 is located on the top left corner of the piece.
