Lot 573: Three decorative vessels including a pair of transfer-printed ceramic jugs and an opaque glass vase
A trio of decorative vessels comprising two matching ceramic jugs and a small glass vase. The matching ceramic jugs are constructed from white glazed earthenware, featuring bulbous bodies, narrow necks with pinched pouring lips, and single loop handles. Each jug is decorated with a green monochrome transfer-print depicting a man and a woman in Regency-style period dress. The accompanying vase is made of opaque light blue glass, possibly Bristol glass, with a bulbous lower body, a waisted neck, and a flared rim. The vase is fitted with two applied clear glass loop handles. An auction tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms, identifying the items as lot 573, is attached to one of the ceramic jugs. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces of the objects.
